Jamison is an accomplished conservation leader with over 30 years’ experience providing vision, leadership, and technical expertise in the protection and stewardship of land and other natural and agricultural resources. As Executive Director of the Santa Lucia Conservancy, he oversees a pioneering community conservation model across the 20,000-acre Santa Lucia Preserve, collaborating with multiple Preserve stakeholders and regional partners to protect and steward, in perpetuity, the unique natural, cultural, and aesthetic resources of the Santa Lucia Preserve and serve as a model of ecologically sustainable development to communities outside of The Preserve.
Previously, Jamison led the Marin Agricultural Land Trust (MALT)—the first agricultural land trust in the Country—where he oversaw a 20% increase in protected farmland to over 54,000 acres, successfully led the largest capital campaign in the organization’s history, and collaboratively worked with the board and staff in developing and adopting a widely supported and visionary strategic plan.
A fifth-generation Californian, Jamison has expertise in all facets of non-profit governance and business development and is an accomplished fundraiser and consensus builder. He has served as a climbing ranger with the U.S. Forest Service, a biologist with the U.S. Forest Service and California Department of Fish and Wildlife, and spent over a decade consulting on special-status species. His leadership and expertise have cemented his reputation as a forward-thinking and collaborative force in conservation.
