Alex Brant was raised in Carmel Valley on a street next to the Carmel River. He grew up playing along the river, building forts with his friends and riding bikes to Quail Lodge to play tennis and to eat pizza and candy at the Valley Hills Center. These early experiences gave Alex a deep love of Carmel Valley that has continued to this day.
He attended All Saints Day School, Robert Louis Stevenson School and the University of Colorado at Boulder, where he majored in English Literature. In 1998, Alex's family bought a ranch at Mid Valley where he helped his parents to build the family home and other buildings on the property. This experience, along with hiking and exploring the ranch and its history, deepened Alex's respect for the environment and rural life in Carmel Valley.
Alex enjoys traveling and has been to over 25 countries. He taught English in Costa Rica and lived in Australia for a year as his mom is Australian and he is a dual citizen. When he's not working as a real estate agent, he enjoys spending time with his family, hiking with his dog, going to the beach, running, woodworking, working on his old Jeep and backpacking in the Ventana Wilderness.
Alex's main goals are to preserve and protect the environment and rural lifestyle of Carmel Valley, push back against overdevelopment, protect cultural resources and help to educate the public on Carmel Valley's history to make sure it is incorporated into important decisions that affect the future of this beautiful place.
